Rhode Island Legal Services (RILS) is the federally funded provider of free legal assistance to income eligible Rhode Islanders in civil matters including housing, bankruptcies, foreclosures, divorces, child support and custody, income tax, domestic violence, public benefits and environmental justice.  RILS is the sponsoring organization of the Environmental Justice Forum 2007.

Since 1992, the Childhood Lead Action Project (Project) has worked to eliminate childhood lead poisoning through education, parent support and advocacy. The Project is the only organization in Rhode Island devoted exclusively to this critical issue.

Environment Council of Rhode Island

Organization Description:
ECRI is a coalition with a membership of about 60 organizations, just about every environmental group in Rhode Island.  Its primary focus is to lobby at the State House for environmental concerns.

American Lung Association of Rhode Island

Organization Description: 

ALARI is dedicated to promoting lung health and fighting lung disease through advocacy, education, and research.  Key areas of focus are healthy air, fighting big tobacco, and improving systems of care for people with lung disease.  Services include support groups for people with lung disease and their families; stop smoking help, the RI Tobacco Control Resource Center, consultation on lung health issues, and lots and lots of information.

Healthy Housing Collaborative

Organization Description:
The Healthy Housing Collaborative is a partnership of 43 agencies and organizations to address healthy housing on many fronts.  It is coordinated by the Rhode Island Department of Health. The group was formed by merging groups working on lead and asthma control, including the Lead Advisory Committee, the Lead Healthy Housing Collaborative, and the Asthma Control Coalition’s healthy housing workgroup.

RIDPI is a coalition of over 35 groups dedicated to reducing exposure to diesel emissions, through legislative and other policy advocacy and public education.

RI Committee on Occupational Safety and Health

Organization Description: 

The RI Committee on Occupational Safety and Health {RICOSH} is a (non-profit) resource center for occupational and environmental health and safety. Our primary focus is to prevent occupational and environmental disease and injury.  RICOSH pursues this goal in three broad areas: training, technical assistance, and advocacy.

Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council

The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council ("WRWC") promotes the restoration and preservation of the Woonasquatucket River watershed as an environmental, recreational, cultural, and economic asset of the State of Rhode Island. The Council works in all six communities in the watershed promoting initiatives which protect and enhance the watershed.
