Organization Description:
Toxics Information Project (TIP) educates people about toxic chemicals in everyday life and products, and on healthier alternatives.
Our website at www.toxicsinfo.org is a mine of information, and offers useful books for sale. We provide informational tables at events, sponsor workshops, and work with individuals, businesses, organizations and government toward healthier options for a variety of purposes.
Previous activities have included our Less Toxic Landscaping Campaign, Pesticide-Free Playing Fields Initiative, and Hispanic Health Education Initiative. (HHEI resulted in a Spanish section on our website at: www.toxicsinfo.org/espagnol.htm)
Our current project is the Kids & Toxics Information Exchange. This will focus on prevention of such conditions as asthma, autism, childhood cancer, and endocrine disruption by avoidance of toxins in toys and other household materials, substituting less-toxic choices. Some pertinent information is already on our website at: www.toxicsinfo.org/TIPS_kids.htm
